Dennis Pickles of Peoria
Dennis is not a Veteran but has been involved in and organized veteran events in Central Illinois since 2001. He was a major organizer in the 2001 display of the Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall. He also participates in the annual vigil at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Vigil in Springfield. Since The April 2004 ambush of the 724th Transportation Company in Iraq, Dennis has been involved in making sure the public does not forget the sacrifice of the men of the Bartonville based Guard unit.
Dennis is a true example of what a patriot really is.
Dennis will awarded an American Flag from Peoria Flag and Decorating and a certificate from Larry Stimeling,the Commander of the 16th District of the American Legion Department of Illinois
